Before treatment
- Tell us about medical conditions, current medication, allergies and any history of scarring
- Avoid sun exposure or sunburn on the area, and tell us if you've recently used harsh skincare
- If the skin is broken, infected, clearly inflamed or unusual, contact us first to see if you need to postpone
- Have a natural-light photo ready and be clear on your goal: remove as much as possible, or fade for a cover-up
Don't hide previous treatments. Laser, chemical removal, dermabrasion or other past treatments can all affect your skin and the plan.
After treatment
- Keep the area clean and dry as instructed
- Don't scratch, rub, pop blisters or pick off scabs
- While healing, avoid strong sun, pools, saunas and activities that rub the area
- Use strict sun protection, and follow the day's aftercare instructions before using any product
- If pain, redness, swelling, discharge or other discomfort keeps getting worse, contact us promptly and see a doctor if needed
When should the next session be?
Sessions are typically 6–8 weeks apart, but healing speed, body area, skin type and each session's reaction differ, and some people need longer. Your next appointment should depend on whether your skin has fully recovered, not just a fixed date.
Common aftercare myths
| Myth | A better approach |
|---|---|
| The sooner the next session, the faster it fades | Give your skin and body time; set the date after review |
| Scabs should come off quickly | Don't pick them off; avoid extra damage |
| If it doesn't hurt, sun is fine | Keep using sun protection while healing and protect the area as instructed |
| Any aftercare advice online will work | Follow your own reaction and the instructions given in person |
